7 Books every Entrepreneur should read

One of the few things that successful Entrepreneurs talk about is the skill of reading. Books have an abundance of knowledge that has the ability to push our minds to think differently. It’s true that there’s no comparison to real life experiences but learning from others journeys and mistakes can make your path to success a little less rocky. There are thousands of books to read but here’s our list of books that we think every Entrepreneur should read.

1] How I Braved Anu Aunty and Co-Founded A Million Dollar Company: Varun Agarwal shares his personal journey on how he overcame obstacles such as society and family pressure to build Alma Mater. The book is an easy read and anyone can connect with the author and his life experiences. Varun, doesn’t fail to constantly leave you with a smile and the confidence in believing in yourself.

2] How to Win Friends and Influence People: You can never be a good entrepreneur if you don’t understand the art of dealing with people. This is one of the only books out there which clearly shares the different secrets of dealing with people. A must read if you want to be a great entrepreneur.

3] Delivering Happiness by Zappos’ Tony Hsieh: The author talks about how he started his Entrepreneurial journey and how Zappos came into existence. Major part of the book talks about how a culture focused on providing great customer service was built in Zappos and how it inspired many other companies to follow their ideologies.

4] “#GIRLBOSS” by Sophia Amoruso: Whoever said girls can’t be entrepreneurs has probably not seen the world. One such entrepreneur Sophia Amoruso shares her story on how she went from rags to riches through her book – #GIRLBOSS. She shares her moments of inspiration, her observations and her experiences with everyone which is not just about her but is rather universal.

5] To Sell is Human by Daniel Pink: Selling is not for everyone but entrepreneurs need to understand how to sell. This is not another book on how to sell but rather is a book to understand the art and science of selling.

6] The 4-Hour Work Week by Tim Ferris: This book doesn’t beat around the bush and clearly shares the steps that you need to take to bring a positive change in your life. The author tries to break the age old concept of late retirement through this book and helps you to create a blueprint for a more immediate successful life.

7] Choose Yourself by James Altucher: James Altucher has written many self help books but ‘Choose Yourself’ just stands out. The author wants you to believe in yourself as this is the first step towards success. There are many life transformation tips that are shared in this book that has the potential to make you a better person or even a successful entrepreneur.

There’s no good time to start reading, whether you’ve just come with a great idea or currently running a startup, reading is simply a great habit to have.
